Scholarship

Our 2021 Student Scholarship is open for submissions!

This Year’s Award: $300

As part of our objective to support upcoming artists in the city of Tacoma and the Pacific Northwest, every year we offer a monetary scholarship (varies yearly $100-$900) to a student interested in learning the mystical art of sequential illustration or adjacent majors (animators, this means you too!). Â

The money provided is for art suppliesâ€”we know how expensive it is to make art! Funds for the scholarship are gathered in the year prior, and all funds gathered are bestowed on one talented applicant the CLAW chooses from those who submit. And it is potentially available to the student who best fills out this application.

Eligibility: You must be currently enrolled, or have confirmation of enrollment in, an institution in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho. Students enrolled in certificate programs by a notable non-university or college institution are also welcome to apply.

Application must be postmarked or electronically received by midnight of September 30th, 2021.

Note: There will be no exceptions, any applications received after September 30th will be disqualified. Applicants must follow application instructions to the letter or will be disqualified without notice.

The winner will be contacted in mid October, and must also agree to print out a giant check image (file will be provided) and send us a photo within a specified deadline in order to receive the award.

No application or associated documentation will be returned to applicants, (please do not send originals, only copies!) and recipient names will be listed on the CLAW website.
