The Cartoonists’ League of Absurd Washingtonian’s Open Swim theme for Wednesday, February 25th 2015 was Hobo Dollars. The challenge was to invest in your art be improving the currency you brought to the event. There were several winners. So many I forgot to keep track of their order. So, in no particular order, here are the submissions from the event.

On Wednesday, July 23rd 2014, The CLAW Open Swim featured “You Complete Me”. Participants were given a partial drawing to complete in an hour. The rules were simple. You could do as many drawings as you wanted, but each would be voted on separately. All participants were given four voting marbles. Black marbles were given to the images that were the most creative and/or interesting. White marbles counted as negative votes for being too mysogynistic. There was a three way tie for third place, and one image was declare more mysogynistic than the others. Credit is given as clearly as could be read from the signatures.

At the last Open Swim, on April, 24^th 2014, The CLAW presented their 2014 Student Scholarship Fund to Kenzy Sorensen.  This was the largest scholarship CLAW has presented to date: $1,223. The Talons of the CLAW were very happy to provide this local art student with the mean to help her afford the art supplies she’ll need for her ongoing art studies.
